Enjoyed our first cruise, when both kids graduated college, to Alaska. I chose the Norwegian Bliss because it was a brand new ship and the dates fit into our schedule. Flew from LAX to Seattle the day before departure so that we could explore Seattle. From the airport hopped on the light rail for $3.00 then on to the monorail for $2.50 to our hotel. Very easy and inexpensive way to travel. We stayed at the Best Western on Taylor Ave. Good spot! In Seattle I recommend the Underground Tour, Pike's Place Market, ...lots to do depends on time and your interest. We took an $8 shuttle van from the hotel to the pier. 11:30 board time Walked right up to the boat, handed off our bags and right on the ship. So easy --no lines or waiting. We had lunch at "The Local"-good choice not too busy.. I had heard that the buffet is busy that first day--well it was busy at every meal.

Book excursions ahead of time. Book shows, dinner reservations, go-carts or laser tag ahead of time. They fill up. If you don't book ahead of time...book at the kiosk the minute you get on the ship.

I recommend a room with a balcony. Only one rough sea day--two of our party were ill. The crew was even feeling it. I recommend the patch if you think you might get seasick,

Cabin Review

Mid-ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

Bathroom was roomy, shower great. The Queen size bed comfy. The pull-out couch bed and pull down (from the ceiling) were terrible. Young children might have been okay, but my two are in their 20's and it was not comfortable at all. Luggage fit under the bed and out of the way. Used a plastic over the door shoe bag with pockets to hold all of our small items, bathroom items etc... Not much room to move about, but we weren't in the cabin that much. Clean very nice
