We flew to LAX and took the Prime Time Shuttle ($16 per person) to the Doubletree Hotel in San Pedro. We did not book a shuttle - just took the first one we saw. We were very pleased with the Doubletree. The staff there is super-nice. We had a room with a marina view, included breakfast and free shuttle to the ship. We got a 1:30pm time for the shuttle as it was either that or an early time (they fill up quite quickly) and the hotel gave us a late checkout. This time was actually good as the lines were very short when we got there. Embarkation was a breeze.

Cabin: We had a Junior Suite as we got a good deal on the price. It was nice but not as big as the JS we had on the Navigator in the Mediterranean. It was very conveniently located near an elevator and had a bathtub and a bathroom you can actually move in. Our cabin attendant was great. Food: The food was standard. It is not as good as it used to be but not having to cook and do dishes are such a plus. We ate in the Main Dining room each night except for going to Portofino's one night. Portofino's was excellent as always. The Captain's dinner was the best meal we had in the Main Dining room. It was very good. We tended to avoid the Windjammer as it seemed so crowded and ate most breakfasts and lunches in the Main Dining room as we also like meeting our fellow travelers. The cafe was always handy for a snack or drink. Our waiters and head waiter were very good.

Entertainment: We thought the entertainment that we saw was excellent. The Ice Show is quite a production and was very popular. The Elvis impersonator rocked and the Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers put on a good show of the 80's. Final night of the Karaoke contest was also fun.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

JS 1544 - Not as large as the last JS that we had. Location was near the elevator. Would not pick this cabin again as there are nicer junior suites. Decor was a bit worn and needs updating. We did get a very good price on it.
