This was our first cruise on a Viking ocean ship after many cruises on Holland America and several on Oceana and the entire cruise was excellent. Our stateroom on deck 6 was a good size with lots of storage space. The selection of shore excursions was quite good and this was a big concern with us as we have been spoiled with the Holland America shore trips selections over the years. The food is very good and the service was outstanding. We like the concept of no broadway shows, no casinos, and no one under 18 years old. Overall Viking is very well organized for embarkation and extremely well organized on disembarkation. The only issue was the immigration folks in Bergen, Norway who were very slow. Viking uses Bergen as its headquarters we believe so they need to exert influence on the Norway officials.
The Viking Sea is a very nice, modern ship and Viking obviously did their homework before launching it. There are lots of nice public areas. Their World Cafe is well organized with very few lines to get served. The other great point compared to other cruise lines is that they don't "nickle and dime" you to death. There is free WiFi, free water when going ashore, free wine and beer with lunch and dinner, no charge for the specialty restaurants, ability to bring a bottle of wine on board from shore trips at no charge, one included shore trip at each port, and wonderful staff.
Nice space and great storage space including the closet. Cabin stewards were excellent, Room service was very good when we used it. As always there are a few glitches such as the shower leaked a little.
