Sail Date: Sep 2018
Cabin: Aft-Facing Balcony

We've sailed on Epic before and there are a couple of things that have gotten better, but it's still average at best. The cabin we were in 11320 is on floor 11 and is the forth from the left if you're looking at the back of the boat. The balcony furniture is uncomfortable and they give you a very small table 5"x 5". The cabin is fine. The bathroom is typical of a cruise ship as is the shower. The hairdryer is in the middle of the room, so if anyone wants to go out to the balcony while you're doing your hair, they have to get by you. The food is ALWAYS the same. The only way you get anything different is if you go to the specialty restaurants. They nickle and dime, so be careful...anytime they ask for your cabin number, you can guarantee you'll be charged for something. Entertainment was so lame, in fact the best thing was the male sexy legs contest. Service was slow but good. Before when we sailed Epic, you had to cut through the casino to get to anywhere good and it was always smoke filled. They've made that a little better...or at least we didn't notice as much this time. People still smoke on the balconies even though they are warned not to. It's annoying if you're just trying to relax with a cup of coffee. (That's just me). The ports are good but they are all far away from the ports. Example, Rome is a little over an hour and once you factor in the shuttles and trains, it's almost two hours. All of the ports require a train or bus to the sights worth seeing-It makes for an exhausting week. Maybe that's why the entertainment is weak-

We took the free drink and internet pkg. My advice would be to take the free drink and excursion. The wifi is AWFUL! The package that comes with the offer is 250mins. which by the time you get on is not worth it.

All-in-all the cruise was eh-

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Balcony

Cabin B1

They are a pretty decent size when comparing them to other cruise lines

This particular cabin is in the back and if you have a weak stomach I suggest you pick something in the center. When the ship is docking and it has to go sideways, it vibrates like you're on a four wheeler. We had things fall off our shelf. In general there's a lot of vibration!

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Rome was awesome but it takes over an hour to get there so you have to rush through everything! WEAR comfortable shoes-bring a battery power pak to charge your wireless devices

Florence (Livorno)

Again you're rushed through everything. This is a place where everything is in walking distance but you have to be in shape. Cobble stone everywhere, which is delightful but not good for those with bad knees or ankles. WEAR comfortable shoes! Don't be afraid to take the bus-beware of pick pockets

Barcelona

Barcelona was a pleasant surprise. Lot of walking and great places to see

Naples

Do your research before you go. Watch YouTube videos and get all of the facts. Learn some of the language. Everything is up a hill so wear comfortable shoes. My recommendation...do Naples not Capri. Capri was PACKED!!!! Spent a lot of time waiting for buses.

Cannes

Beautiful area-do research before going. Again a lot of walking and a lot of uphill walking. Comfortable shoes are a must.

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

This was just eh for us. We started off at the hop on/off bus that's right in port. They stopped sending the bus so we were stuck with our tickets and had to walk into town to take advantage of it. BEWARE
