We just got back last night from 14 days on the Celebration Constellation, and I want to write my review while it's still fresh and may be a help to other customers, as well as some constructive criticism in case the folks at Celebration read this. What I'm comparing this cruise with is our last 2 cruises on Holland America which were both in the past 2 years. Our first cruise was so long ago we won't count it. And if price is imp., we got a great rate by watching prices online for several weeks. Basically, I'd rate our experience 7 out of 10, or a bit higher. We had a very good time and were overall pleased and would recommend it to anyone. There were a few things that Celebrity and their partners really should do something about to improve, esp. since I think it would be fairly easy. Here's the what I think needs to be improved right away... 1/ the food is pretty good, sometimes very good, but unfortunately sometimes pretty poor. I found the meat at dinner very good, while the fish and seafood horrible about than half the time. The seafood was overcooked, the kiss of death for any seafood dish, and with poor or no flavor. I don't know how they screwed this up so often. My only guess is that timing is more crucial when cooking seafood and they just didn't do a good job. 2/ Ice cream at the ice cream station is the cheap stuff. (Holland has far better ice cream and I think they also offer gelato.) Cookies not good, and the small chocolate ones they serve every day at the ice cream counter are simply horrible. 3/ I tried most of the fruit soups and think they're not worth ordering. (again, Holland America got this right) Lastly... 4/ I didn't enjoy my experience with Park West Galleries and their auctions -they seemed to me like used car salesmen. They were very good salesmen, too, selling us on the idea that we could get original art as well as framing for less money than anywhere else. But after almost buying 3 pieces, I changed my mind when I asked for the details. I almost bought these pieces until I found out I was looking at what turned out to be something newish to the art world called 'giclees'. These are digital copies made a bit like your color ink-jet printer at home. Not hand-signed by the artist and numbered, as I expect from limited edition prints. Some were produced after the artist had died. And what I assumed were one-of-a-kind oil paintings turned out to be giclees with a bit of real paint added. A bit shocking to me. They had lots of these reproductions mixed in with limited edition original art, and I think this is not right. I believe a giclee is basically a high quality poster, and not original art, but I'm not a pro -I could be wrong. Maybe ask a local gallery or museum this question beforehand if you think you want to buy art on the cruise. Do be careful when buying from Park West because they don't make it clear which are giclees. And if you get a giclee and didn't want one, I'd suggest asking them immediately to cancel the purchase, unless it came with frame at a very cheap price. If they won't cancel, you can always phone VISA and ask them to cancel it. Oddly, the one session I attended appeared to sell only 2 or 3 pieces in total. Also, if you want to buy something and take it off the ship to avoid the expenses of shipping and handling and also buying a new frame, they'll likely charge a $75 'restocking fee'. Even for the unframed giclees.

So that's it. The above could be fixed fairly easily. I hope I may have helped you choose your dinner and artwork a little better. Oh yes -the service was really very good in the dining room and the cabins and as well as the rest of the staff. :)
