Started cruise in Basel, Switzerland. Side trip to Lucerne Switzerland the day before by taking a one hour train ride from city center, easy and further the time. Took a cruise across the lake and then a tram to top of Mt Pilatus, great experience. Both citiies fun to explore. The market areas in Basel are very nice.

The staff of the Amadante very welcoming and always smiling. They all appear to enjoy people and their jobs. The crew manager Edward fantastic. He planned so much and took care of everyone’s questions or needs. The chef and dining room staff was amazing. Great history lessons about the towns and Germany from friendly tour guides on every excursion. Visited beautiful towns and tasted delicious things on culinary excursions and on our own. Met great people from around the world. We appreciated the smaller intimate number of cruisers on this size ship. It makes it inviting to create friendships.

This was our first river cruise and it exceeded expectations. Interested in doing another river cruise on a future vacation.
