Husband and I in our early 40's. 21st cruise and 5th with NCL. We stayed in Rome for 4 days prior to the cruise at the Hotel Piazza Venezia. We found this hotel to be nice, comfortable and all of Rome's main attractions were within walking distance with the exception of the Vatican (which was about a 20 minute bus ride and the bus stop was right outside the hotel door). We used a private car service to take us to the port on embarkation day which worked out very nice. We chose this cruise due to the Ports it visited (Mykonos, Athens, Rhodes, Santorini, Souda, Valleta, Messina and Naples). We did some ship excursions and some we just went off on our own. All of the ports were stunning but we were disappointed that it was such a short stop in Souda. We arrived at 7am and had to be back on board by 11:30am. Not much time to explore and a lot of places in town weren't open that early. The staff on this ship were amazing. Super friendly and really went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The food at Cagney's steakhouse was exceptional. We ate there four times during our cruise. Cliffton was our server there and he was outstanding! So friendly and so funny, we looked forward to seeing him. The food in the main dining room was pretty good but I didn't care for the buffet at supper. The buffet was really good at breakfast time though! We did not care for the ship itself at all. We found it very run down, a bit dirty and the decor wasn't so great. It could use a major overhaul. We usually travel on the larger, newer ships so I am not sure if this is what all older ships are like but it was as bit of a shock. It also shook, clanged and vibrated something awful when we were arriving into port. If you were sleeping in, you were woken up to the noise and the whole bed shaking (our room was at the front of the ship). There were a few nice places which we enjoyed like the Galaxy of the Stars or eating outside on the back of the ship. The other nice thing was the Blue Lagoon. It was great that you could get a small variety of hot food and finger foods 24-7. We would definitely go again but just on a different ship. The staff and the ports made this cruise. Again, these are just my own personal opinions and everyone is different in their likes and dislikes. So to each their own. :)

Amazing Ports, Excellent Staff... Ship Not So Much

Cabin Review

Balcony
Cabin BD 9000
Cabin was old and run down. Tears in the bedding. Chair was falling apart. Glass shelves on the bathroom mirror were falling off. TV remote didn't even have any lettering or numbers on it. Balcony was dirty. Only one standard plug. Missing or broken tiles in the bathroom. Really liked the larger size shower though.
