Myself, DW, and sisters in law decided to visit Europe. While in Europe I decided to take advantage of the MSC cruise out of Southampton. Arrival was smooth. Once my driver figured out where to drop us we were quickly processed and boarded the ship. We found the ship design and layout pretty much like all others of similar size. The ship was well maintained and the crew for the most part pleasant. I did find that the ship catered to the German clientele and language was an issue with some of the crew.

Dining was not anything to write home about. I write this understanding that they must satisfy a wide range of palates. I found that there was a definite lack of comfort foods on the ship. In the dining room we left twice because there was nothing on the menu that my DW or I liked or felt like eating. On other lines there is always a back-up menu if this happens.

We did not take advantage of the specialty restaurants.
