Port of Miami: As we disembarked I mentioned to our Captain Kate 'A Perfect Cruise, How Can a Cruise be Better?' What a friendly, focused staff. All areas of food service and entertainment. The excursions offered a wide variety to choose from. Once Captain Kate announced we had 1200 Brits on board we knew immediately why everyone was quiet and good mannered. We were surrounded by adults and just a few quiet little children having an adult experience, smiling. This ship is definitely not Carnival! Nothing was stuff shirt, however, there were a few patrons turning away from fine dining because they were wearing tank tops, short and flip flops. Everyone else had no problem following the appropriate dress code. After all, this wasn't Golden Corral. A nice collared shirt and slacks were fine. The food was excellent and served with the right portions. The standard fare and a few knew items added every day. We had a deluxe cabin with Starboard Balcony on the 7th floor. We learned that we were high above the smokers area so no smoke was inhaled. Make note of the locations for smokers, it my be right below your balcony. Possibly turning this 5 star rating to a 2. We're not smokers and pleased to walk through a smoke free environment while inside. The Equinox always smelled fresh. Every island stop had something to offer. The locals were happy to see us since almost 85% of their annual income came from Ship Arrivals. Because of their Maria & Irma recovery status we were happy to spend some money at each island. St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix, Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Maarten. All beautiful in their own right. The people were pleasant. There's so much to do on the ship. With free classic beverage as our perk, we enjoyed excellent drink brands. And the 18% gratuity is included if it was a offered as a free perk. And wow, those Brits can drink. Not rowdy though. A shout out to Zaldy, Estephan, Miroslav, Somdev and Sheldon. You all were very friendly and good at you job! Seriously, even if you never get off the ship and just sail for 11 days on the Equinox, you will have a wonderful time. Thanks Captain Kate & Crew! A side note: We stayed in Ft. Lauderdale one night (LaQuinta/free parking and breakfast), drove (45 mins.) to SafeParking in Miami and they dropped us off and picked up. The trip was seamless. We hope to try again real soon.

Sheldon was our Cabin Steward. He was friendly and excellent. Cabin was roomy and always clean as a whistle. Balcony was large and provided excellent views of the islands.
