Cabin: Mini-Suite with Balcony

Japan was a destination that interested us. Seemed like good value for money at time of booking. When boarded our 1st experience with the cabin was extremely disappoined. Toilet was leaking and continued to leak throughout the cruise. The 2 TV's didn't work initially and were eventually fixed. Balcony door was jammed shut and had to be freed. Balcony was not cleaned prior to us boarding, probably because the door was jammed. Contracted food poisoning in Korsakov and was isolated in cabin for almost 2 days. Missed Otaru because of illness and the ship bypassed Hakodate because of impending typhoon in area. Received one less day cruising and one port totally. For this we received a $50.00 on board credit. Not a very good deal.

On the plus side, the dining room dining was very good and enjoyable with friendly and knowledgable staff. The lack of japanese cuisine offered was a bit disappointing.

Theatre entertainment was very poor, but daytime entertainment was quite good.
