This was my first cruise, and also my first trip to Alaska. I was part of a group for the Kailua High School class of 73 reunion festivities. There were about 20 of us including family & friends and the trip was organized by a classmate with help from a travel agent. What was really great is that we could spend time together enjoying the hospitality aboard the ship, meetups in the lounge or casino or for dinner or a show, and have plenty of opportunity to go our separate ways on excursions and visiting the ports of call.

Alaska was magnificent. The beauty of Glacier Bay was a religious experience. We saw whales, seals and wildlife and experienced a taste of Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan. Overall this was the trip of a lifetime.

Our cabin was super clean, we had a balcony and the weather was particularly nice to enjoy cruising on the days at sea and viewing the wild Alaska shoreline with our binoculars.

Port Reviews

Juneau

Juneau was wonderful for walking about and experiencing the local cuisine, shopping, and bar hopping. The only thing we didn't like was having to take the bus. If the weather permits, take a walk instead.

Skagway

What a charming and quaint town! We did a nice walkabout and learned much about the history of this interesting place where miners came to look for gold. Don't miss the community theater production on the life of Soapy Smith! I also liked how it was a short walk to town right from the pier.

Glacier Bay

Magnificent. Only poets have words to describe the enchanting splendor of this magical place.

Ketchikan

This was my favorite town because in many ways it reminded me of home. The people were all so friendly & hospitable. Lots of history to explore!
