This was a very relaxing cruise. The crowd was mainly retirees as we can take two weeks off when school is in session. We had a lot of Canadians and UK Brits on the cruise in addition to US citizens, and Celebrity catered to the demographic. UPTOWN was "our music" - soul and R&B (Motown!) and Sean O'Shea was comedy and golden oldies. As Sean said, he is always asked by young folks why he doesn't do THEIR music and he answers "Because YOU didn't pay for the cruise!" Not totally accurate, but we got the point!
"Formal Nights" are a thing of the past, it seems, which is OK with us. Very few of the passengers "dressed for dinner." We no longer have to pack tuxes and gowns so we have plenty of room for our snorkels and swim masks. We take nice shirts for MDH and pretty tops and slacks for me. We cruise for the ports, experiences and relaxation, not to be seen!!
On entertainment, the Celebrity Singers, dancers, and aerialists are the most professional we have seen, and the ship orchestra is great. There was really good evening music throughout the ship. Also, Kenneth Stein did a four part series on the US and Russian Space Race, which was the theme of our childhood. Excellent!!!
Nice cabin, well-maintained. Needs new mattresses.
We decided to wander about in the town which we had not done in several years. The Dutch side is recovering very well. Prayers for the French side - we will be back to see it soon!
