Overall, the cruise was...well, okay. The positives: 1) We had a package in which drinks, including alcoholic drinks were included which meant no HUGE and surprising bill at the end of the week. The package included the higher-end liquor and they were not short on wait staff to serve the drinks. 2) Drink and dinner service was good, wait staff was quite attentive. 3) We had adjoining rooms with our kids which was super convenient. 4) The excursions - though pricey - were run well - very organized.
Factors that varied:
1) Service - mostly, it was good. But we had a few run ins with staff that were unpleasant. The health club lady asked my son (who was 18) to leave the health club unless he had a parent. He was so embarrassed he never went back in there for the rest of the cruise. Also, we had reservations for one of the restaurants for dinner (for 9 people). When we arrived we were told we could not sit together, despite the fact that 2/3 of the restaurant was empty. 2) Food. The food in the steak restaurant was amazing, but others were hit and miss.
Cabin was set up well - space was well utilized with lots of nooks and crannies to store stuff. It did not feel too small, unlike some other cruises I have been on. Balcony was nice.
Typical Mexico experience. Lots of shops. Good for souvenirs. Touristy. Something ya gotta do once in life.
