We wanted to see Alaska and the glaciers.
Getting on and off the ship was very easy and mostly smooth.
The ship was very clean and the mini-suite with balcony was everything you could ask for.
We were very disappointed with the food. The service in the dining rooms was very good but the food was poor, with the exception of the two specialty dining rooms.
We spent a goodly amount of time at the Mendenhall glacier and that was one of the many highlights of the cruise. Glacier Bay was fantastic, we could have spent a little longer there but we did see a lot.
Our shore excursion at Skagway was great. We went to a musher camp and went mushing with a team of 17 dogs then were introduced to puppies from 2-3 months to 2-3 weeks. We loved it, highly recommended. We also found some miniature totem poles that were very well done by native Alaskan carvers.
Unfortunately, our Juneau port of call was canceled due to bad weather. You can not control the weather.
Then on to Ketchikan, the Saxman Native Alaskan village and totem pole tour was great. We purchased a hand-woven native basket that was very beautiful. In Ketchikan, we also found some scrimshaw than we had been looking for, done by a native Alaskan.
Overall the cruise was great, we would go back to Alaska, but there are so many more places waiting for us to discover we probably will not return.
Great cabin, loved the balcony. Very clean
Beautiful. What a grand experience!
Great time, the mushing was an experience of a lifetime. The dogs were great and the puppies adorable.
Very interesting. The native dancing was terrific and the full-size totem poles were exquisite. Great gift shop with some very nice hand-woven baskets.
