We had a great week on the Getaway! There were three of us - my parents in one balcony cabin, and myself in a balcony cabin next door to theirs (on the 11th deck). It was my first time cruising so I was a little hesitant based on some of these reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised! The balcony cabins were perfect - not too small and the bathrooms and shower were a pretty decent size. The bed in my cabin was closest to the balcony which was nice- in my parents cabin next door their bed was further away from the balcony (with the couch being right next to the balcony sliding door) - they would have preferred the lay out of my room but it wouldn't have made a big deal to me either way. Our cabins were always clean and our steward introduced himself to us on the first day. Our cabins were initially missing the blue beach towels so we asked for them at the towel exchange at the pool, and were (rudely) told by the attendant on duty that we needed to take them from our room. After having to give our info for a $25 deposit in case we did not return the towels the pool attendant finally agreed to give us, we were able to get on with our day at the pool. That was annoying and an inconvenience - and we had to ask our steward for beach towels a couple of times before we all got them. Aside from that, no other issues with our cabins and loved coming back to cute towel animals pretty much every night!

From a dining aspect, most mornings we ate in the buffet (which was always good and had more than enough options, although a juice/smoothie bar would have been an amazing addition, especially after the gym some mornings). We ate breakfast once at Margaritaville, however their hours are slightly different than the buffet (I think breakfast ends early at 1030a there). We ate lunch at O'Sheehans one day which was pretty good, although service was extremely slow. One other day had lunch (and on most days, snacks) from the buffet which were all good. Dinners at Taste and Savor (complimentary) were all pretty good as well! We also ate at Moderno which was our favorite and best meal of the trip - but make sure you are hungry - SO much food! Teppanaki was our second favorite - a fun environment and the food there was great too. For our 3rd restaurant we ate at Le Bistro - the escargot were delicious, but everything else was not very good. The scallops had a funny/bad taste, and the shrimp and duck were barely mediocre. The service here was also extremely slow and there's a dress code which they definitely enforce (closed toed shoes for men and collared shirts). We were disappointed by this restaurant and wish we hadn't wasted a dinner here! The noodle bar was good for a casual dinner/snack - the portions are pretty small but you can order as much as you want. We also ate at the sushi bar one night which was really good - although service was EXTREMELY slow there.

Drinks for the most part were very good. I was impressed with their wine selection, they had a good chardonnay and pinot noir, and a bunch of other options to choose from. Had a few pina coladas (and they happily would add extra rum on top if asked) as well as bloody marys which were great. I was looking forward to Sugarcanes mojito bar, but found most of those drinks to be super sugary and not really authentic - shouldn't the mint leaves be muddled in the glass, and not just a garnish? The bartender at Sugarcane's outdoor bar was not the friendliest either - but we often sat in the couches/chairs nearby and the waiters/servers would come by often to take drink orders which was nice! Loved the outdoor seating area in general (as long as you could find a seat - seemed to be a popular spot!)
