Wanted to cruise on a river for the first time. Small number of passengers. Day tours. Got to see a Paris before and Zürich afterwards. Loved the peacefulness. Wanted a cabin with a bed that faced the river. Crew was great. Cruise director was great. Would like to see something done about the noise in the dining room. So loud at evening meal that we could barely hear the other people at our table. Appreciated the credit for having to bus us from one ship to another because of low water. We enjoyed the day trips off the ship in Germany. The city walking tours were just the right length. We enjoyed the trip to the Black Forest and the castles on th Rhine Gorge. We were able to relax and only do the things we wanted to do. We liked the Avalon ships. Had to get transferred from one to another because of low water levels.We have already booked another Avalon cruise.
