Having cruised on more than 12 cruises with Princess, we wanted to try something different and chose Cunard. This was a great experience overall. We found the ship roomier than our Princess experiences, the food in the Britannia Restaurant was good, the lectures were superior, and the entertainment was excellent.
Overall, we liked the ship and appreciated its decor. After the first two nights, we had a new Captain (female). She provided a great midday review and participated in a one-on-one interview in the theatre. Her responses were informative and pleasant- giving confidence in her as a Captain.
See comments below re cabin.
Our cabin on was kept spotlessly clean by our steward. We appreciated the 2-seater settee, although it was somewhat old and needs replacing. The only other aspect of the cabin that we did not like was the wardrobe arrangement. Princess ships have an open wardrobe that provides great access to clothes. The one on Cunard was a standard wardrobe next to the bathroom - resulting in much congestion at shower/dressing time.
Great excursion using Troll cars
Took HOHO bus
3rd time there - went to Hanseatic Museum
Took ship shuttle into town
