We chose this cruise to Norway as we have traveled quite extensively but not to this region. The embarkation was well organized, as typical for Princess, and went smoothly. We had a balcony cabin on the Lido deck that was very convenient for the breakfast and lunch buffet. The cabin was not glamorous but had a very comfortable bed, plenty of closet space and beautiful views. Our steward was a lovely gentleman and provided excellent service. The ship's passengers were mainly 50+, and there were few children aboard. This is really a trip for the older well traveled set, and I can't imagine how it could have been entertaining for anyone under 21. If you want activities for children this is the wrong cruise line and the wrong ports of call.
We selected the early fixed time dining and walked past the long line of Anytime Diners as we went to our table in the Pacific Moon dining room. There were 2 other couples at our table who we enjoyed getting to know during the cruise and had many enjoyable conversations. Our 2 waiters were very professional, and we all wanted to take them home. The meals were excellent except for the steak dishes, which were not up to the same quality as the other selections. The Horizon Court buffet had a good selection but was very crowded on a few days.
We went on excursions at every port and especially enjoyed the train in Flam, the ice bar in Gravdal and and trip to Mt. Dalsnibba. Our only complaint is some of the guides spoke English with an accent that was hard to understand.
Not glamorous but serviceable.
Very comfortable beds, big flat screen TV
