The reason we book this cruise was for the Cuba stop. I have not sailed on a sovereign class ship in years and never sailed on majesty before. back in the 90s I had sailed on sovereign and monarch. I was pleasantly surprised the overall look of such an old ship the staff was outstanding, service was great, the food was up to Royal Caribbean standards. The family enjoyed the highlight tour in Cuba we booked it through Royal Caribbean the exchange of money to the Cuban dollar was very easy at the port. For the folks that love the straw market in Nassau they have a market like that in Cuba not far from the ship you can get everything from shot glasses and magnets to Cuban rum and cigars. Leaving the ship in Cuba is not like the other Caribbean stops you have to go through a very official customs process. They stamp your passport in the visa section and taking your picture the total process time was about 45 minutes. From leaving the ship till we got to the excursion check in that time also included exchanging US dollars to Cuban dollars.
The interior rooms are small on this ship compared to other interior rooms on the newer ships of Royal Caribbean. The room was very clean the AC was outstanding coming back to a cold room after Hot days in Cuba and Key West. The bathroom work appropriately no issues the stateroom attendant was outstanding
My wife and I ate Chiefs table the food was outstanding if you enjoy wine and fine food you should treat yourself.
