After a handful of ocean cruises which we found to be less than rewarding than river cruising and at best, they took us where we wanted to go, Viking took us to a much better place. We went to places we wanted to see and we went in a way that made us happy to be part of the journey. Viking has adapted the best things, the things we appreciate about river cruising, and included them within a reasonably sized ocean going vessel. Then they added a superior dining experience, with two specialty restaurants on board the ship.

All this; excellent dining, outstanding specialty dining (Italian and Chef's Table), superior lectures and presentations, and included excursions (not everything is optional)and there is no additional fees, charges, costs, etc. You book the trip, pay for the trip, and simply relax and enjoy the trip.

This trip, specifically, took us above the Arctic Circle. We felt the North Cape as it dampened our exterior, but lifted our spirits. We had tours that introduced to places we'd never been and free time to spend enjoying our new found favorite spot. Each day brought us a new favorite.

Cabin Review

Every room has a veranda! Need I say more? The cabin was a very good size and the amenities were excellent! Someone made up the room and turned down the bed daily. And, everyday our fridge was refilled. Even the candy bars re-appeared eac afternoon. Did I mention, every room ha a veranda!
