Our longship at sunset, just before leaving Koln.
The windmills at Kinderdijk
Kinderdijk windmill, our first shore excursion.
View of the Rhine from Marksburg Castle. Our ship is docked along the shore
One of MANY castles we saw during the afternoon of cruising the Middle Rhin
The "A Team", top-notch staff for our ship!
Heidelberg, the world's largest(?) wine cask.
Elegant dining on board our ship.

From beginning to end, this was the trip of a lifetime! Excellent accommodations and facilities and stateroom on the ship. Every single crew member, from captain to chef to concierge to housekeeper, was incredibly welcoming and helpful and beyond friendly. The itinerary was well planned and clearly communicated on a daily basis, so we always knew what to look forward to. Every single excursion, whether included or optional, was excellent and every guide was informative and helpful and more than willing to answer any question (that goes for all the crew members as well). The beautiful scenery we enjoyed, the fascinating history we learned, and the wonderful people people we met, will remain in our memories for a very, very, long time. We traveled with two other couples we’ve known for many years and as the trip neared its end we agreed it had been an incredible experience and we should start planning our next cruise ASAP. If there weren’t so many other places to see, we’d do it all over again!

The staff, especially the program director Ivan, were terrific at making all our gatherings fun, even if they were just for sharing information about the next day's activities. We had an amazing time in the lounge the night of the international music quiz. Danced the night away, and even the staff seemed honestly impressed with the energy of the passengers - they made us feel very special that night, as they did every moment of the cruise.

Cabin Review

Veranda Superior

Cabin A

More than enough room for our needs, VERY comfortable and clean and well-arranged. Bed was really comfortable for sleeping. Bathroom was very small - as to be expected on a boat - but creatively and efficiently designed. More than met our needs.

Port Reviews

Cologne

Excellent tour guide, very helpful and informative and friendly. Made our afternoon touring on our own much, much easier.

Cologne

Awesome. LOTS of fun, and our guide Christian made it even more of a delightful outing. I'm now a big fan of Kolsch beer.

Rudesheim

Great evening of good food and fun, lots of laughter and singing and Schnapps shots from a board!

Heidelberg

Thorough and informative, it gave us a great appreciation for the history of the castle and town, and oriented us so our free time in the city was fun and productive.

Strasbourg

Bus tour thru newer portion of the city, which included EU buildings, was nice but didn't provide opportunity to stop and visit any of the buildings. Walking tour of the old city was great. Just long enough - and as with our other tours it gave us plenty of time to do touring and shopping on our own.
