I wanted to go to Scotland and up north so this seemed like a good choice. We liked going up into the midnight sun and seeing the area north of the arctic circle. The cruise allowed us to take separate outings and yet spend lots of time together. We met lots of nice people our age and had excellent food. We liked the fact that the boat is smaller than usual cruise boats and didn't have casinos and family style entertainment. We were busy all the time and even though we ate plenty we actually lost a couple of pounds! A couple of the excursions were not very active or exciting, and some of the active ones had people who shouldn't have gone on them because they weren't fit enough. For the next cruise we booked at a higher level so we could get into some of the better trips that filled up before we could sign up. The fitness center was too busy and we just used the excellent track outside.
We were upgraded from our original signup. The cabin had lots of room and a great veranda. Everything was kept immaculate and we enjoyed the room.
Toured the castle and nearby monument.
Saw archaeological sites. Very interesting.
