We have enjoyed Viking River cruises and wanted to try out their new ship, Viking Sun. We truly loved our cabin, which was a Penthouse Suite. The ship was gorgeous with so many wonderful spaces, fabulous food and great, varied choices. good wine with meals, outstanding entertainment and we even enjoyed the excursions. The staff was simply amazing and we wanted for nothing. There was always a smile and a warm welcome. We will definitely take another Viking Ocean cruise. We thought that 14 nights would be too long. It was just perfect...We also loved the itinerary. The only negative is one of the excursions that we paid extra for was a huge disappointment. It was for bird watching and we were informed too late that all the sea birds were already gone at this time of year. Viking should have known that and informed us. That is our only complaint, other than the gym. IN a perfect world there would be a more varied schedule for classes other than 7:30am. A casino would be fun as well.

Cabin Review

Cabin Penthouse Suite

We loved our cabin. There was plenty of storage for us both and lots of outlets. Even the bathroom worked very well. There was enough space and that is saying something coming from a 4000sq. ft. home for 2! The in room entertainment was terrific. We loved having CNBC and good movies to choose from. The music selections were terrific. On the night that Aretha Franklin died, we celebrated by dancing to her in our cabin!
