Sail Date: Jul 2018

My husband and I traveled on a Viking river cruise (Danube) last March 2018, and immediately signed up for the Rhine cruise next March 2019. The wonderful experience we had on that ship gave me the courage to travel ALONE (husband had to work) on a Viking ocean cruise because I saw first hand how Viking staff take care of everyone so beautifully. And I'm SO glad I took the ocean cruise; I can't even rate it highly enough, I had the time of my life! I have traveled all over the world: China, India, Turkey, Morocco, Spain, Ireland, England, France, etc, but I have to say this Viking cruise was the best trip I ever had. I even signed up for another one while on board, the February 2020 "In Search of the Northern Lights" ocean cruise.

I experienced first-hand the care Viking takes in every detail to assure passenger comfort. Embarkation went so smoothly due to there being a huge number of staff at every turn to direct us and answer questions. Viking personnel found me at the baggage claim at Heathrow and I gratefully put myself into their capable hands for the entire trip, and they never let me down. The staff are all clearly marked with the logo and Viking red; at embarkation you just had to connect the dots from one Viking person with a big easy-to-see bright red umbrella to another. Usually I get nervous while traveling regarding getting confused or lost, especially if I'm by myself, but Viking made every chance where that could have happened into a secure, confident experience. They never leave you guessing where you are suppose to be or go, even at Immigration in a foreign country. I really appreciated that.

The food was excellent, with a huge range of variety. The hardest decisons I had to make for those 2 weeks aboard ship were which amazing restaurant to eat at each night!

Cabin Review

Cabin Delux veranda

Beautiful cabin, immaculately clean and cleaned twice a day. Extremely quiet; I slept like a baby. Love the balcony! The bed is super comfortable, and I wish I could find huge fluffy pillows like that so I could have them at home. Bathroom shower is very nice and easy to use. Plenty of closet space.
