This was our third Viking Cruise (second Ocean), and we have two more river cruises scheduled for 2019. In our opinion, Viking Cruises has always been at the top of our list. I'm not sure if they are experiencing growing pains, but..

Viking does a poor job at advising passengers that they are put in the back of the bus when it comes to booking amenities such as Optional Excursions, Included Excursions, Restaurants, and other Ship activities. If we had know that Class of Service was a direct tie to options, we would have never booked it. All of the optional tours were sold out when we were allowed to book them. All of the included tours were only available in the afternoon. Don't get me wrong, we were pretty excited to be able get the lowest fair available for this Cruise, but we paid a price for the options!!! To say the least, we were disappointed!!!

Utilizing Viking Travel leaves a lot to be desired!!!! At one point, we were about to board our flight for our extended stay in Edinburgh. I'm not sure why, but we got stuck paying for our luggage at a tune of GBP 130. We were told by a Viking Customer Service Rep to refer to the "Fine Print". I sent a claim to Viking Customer Relations, but received a canned response that it will take 5 Business Days to review and respond. Read more
