We chose Viking because we have always wanted to see Europe and this seemed to be an economical and exciting way to see several different countries. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend Viking and the Mediterranean cruise itinerary which included Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Greece, and Croatia . We were on the maiden cruise of the Orion and the ship was beautiful, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the crew was awesome. Our cabin was very comfortable as was our bed. We had plenty of room. The cruise was aimed more at an older clientele and I wouldn't recommend it for young couples. The entertainment onboard ship was tailored mainly to the cultural aspect of our cruise and added to the enjoyment of the ports we visited. Viking included one excursion at each port that we visited in the price and we really enjoyed these trips which usually included a tour of the city we were visiting. I do wish they also included beach excursions as part of the experience. We saw many beautiful beaches and I really wished we had had the chance to visit and enjoy them. I also would have liked our tour guides to hand out emergency numbers in the event you became separated or needed help of some kind. We really loved the cruise and plan on taking a river cruise with Viking next year in the summer.
