We chose this cruise because of the ports it was going to. This was our first Carnival cruise (we have done Princess and Royal) and there were some really great things but other events not so great. First the great; food was excellent! Entertainment great! Staff - most of them friendly, lots of fun activities. Not so great; the theatre - who designed it and okayed it? There are seats right behind these huge pillars so your view of the stage is blocked. If you sit on deck 5 you are looking through plexiglass which impairs your view of the show. The isles go nowhere so if you come in late or want to leave early you have to climb over other guests because that's the only way out. Most of the seats on deck 4 are on the same level so if you have a large person sitting in front of you - you'll have to move.
Embarkation - We signed up for a 1:00 - 1:30 p.m. check in time. I'm not sure why, it didn't make a difference we were still in the same line as the other 3,000+ people that were there. I'm not sure what the purpose of the online check in was, it didn't get us on any faster. Disembarkation - There were 2 people scanning close to 4,000 people off the ship. Really? They couldn't find a couple more people to do that? It took us 4 hours (we did the right thing and waited for our floor to be called - sure enough, it was the last floor) to get off the ship. We stayed in the library playing a game but I'm glad I didn't have young children!
Food - As already stated, it was great but sometimes an issue finding it. Line ups at the Lido buffet were sometimes long and of course you always had those who felt they were more important than the rest of us and just walked in line saying "I'm just getting some..." then would hold the whole line up. It was frustrating but great food when you finally got it.
