The mainstage shows on board the Norwegian Gem were the best of any cruise line I've sailed. The singers and dancers were truly top-notch, and the arrangements (orchestrations) and performance quality were superb. I loved the high energy of the dancing and the variety of the three show themes (swing, country/western, 70s). Knowing that the singers are classically trained, I would love to see/hear the singers program a recital of classical art songs, perhaps some afternoon during the cruise - what a lovely addition to the schedule of events that would be.

The jogging track on the Norwegian Gem is much nicer than the tracks on board other ships, in that the route is longer and more interesting (i.e., not just an oval in shape). As with other ships' jogging tracks, though, there is a constant problem of oblivious fellow passengers getting in the way of runners. To help prevent these "run-ins," I would suggest posting signs indicating "Yield to Runners."

This ship has a lot of great features for lovers of ocean liners and nautical lore, including art and artifacts from liners like the SS United States and the Normandie, plus a bridge viewing window that is open during daylight hours (except when docking).
