We love the Alaska experience and were able to take a group of first time cruisers (4) and first timers to Alaska(+4 more) on this journey. First off the ship is showing it's age and is very tired and in need of a major overhaul. The Alaska experience is worth the trip, 4 times for us, if the weather is decent all the better. The trip named Voyage of the Glaciers truly lived up to its name this time as we enjoyed spectacular sunshine at Glacier Bay and Collage Fjord. The weather was brisk with a good wind but my goodness what views. The Captain out did himself with prolonged stays in both bays and we were able to watch calving for almost two hours in College Fjord. WOW!
All meals were up to standard and we especially enjoyed the evenings when the Maitre d prepared special side dishes and desserts for us in the main dinning room. Table side service was top notch.
Room attendant did everything he could to make our trip enjoyable and worry free after a couple of minor problems came up and that looked after with great expediency.
The staff this cruise were the normal high quality expected when sailing with Princess. The rooms hallways and most public areas are in need of refurbishing as things are looking very tired.
