This was our third Royal Caribbean cruise and really we plan to stay with them unless there is an itinerary we need that they do not provide. We arrived in Venice 2 days before the cruise to have some time there. Embarkation was as seamless and trouble free as I have seen, this could be due to the size of the ship. We arrived really early and had to wait a few hours to get to our rooms, but the buffet and other venues were available.
The ship is as all their other ships in pretty good shape, however this one was looking like she could use a few updates. There were bubbles in the wall paper and in the bathrooms.
Our room was on the third deck and this was the first time we have been on a low deck, so if that is the cause for the noise please disregard. It was noisy, we heard the running stomp of children's feet above us at all hours. Other than that the rooms were great.
We had an ocean view cabin and we liked the way the room looked. I did not feel closed in at all in this room. We have always had a balcony before and I can see having this room type again.
We came into Venice 2 days before the cruise in order to see some of the city. We will be back for sure.
We did walked around old town. I loved the curved streets and the way the town looks. We did not go up the walk to the church or farther as we only had 5 and a half hours in port. Also it was raining off and on so that dimmed our enthusiasm.
We rode the bus into Corfu and walked around a small part of the town. We sat and had coffee at one of the restaurants and had a wonderful time visiting with our waiter. The town was nice from what we saw.
We rode the bus from the pier (X80). This is the express bus to the Plaka and other areas of interest. We ate in the Plaka and looked at the shops around there. As we were unfamiliar with the area we stayed nearby so we could find our way back to the bus stop.
We were tendered for this port. The town looks larger from the ship, but getting to all the locations is so easy and everything is so close. Look for the donkey as he is a favorite on the Island They are working on the windmills so be forewarned, but they are still dramatic. Oh the white buildings, I could go on and on about Mykonos. I fell in love with this place right away. The shops are nice and just wandering was a treat.
