I had read some reviews after booking and was a bit concerned that we had made a mistake but we cannot fault the service we had or the quality of the food. We used the coach service and were on board very quickly. We had an outside cabin which was very clean on level 8. The soundproofing was better than I expected as I didn't hear other people and I am a light sleeper. We opted for second sitting and ate in The Bay Tree where the service was excellent. We also ate at the same restaurant for breakfast. All the food we ate was lovely and my husband is a picky eater but they made everything that he requested. The entertainment was not really to my taste, but I don't have mainstream music taste. There were plenty of bars to choose from so somewhere for everyone. The pool area wasn't somewhere I spent much time, too many noisy kids but it was school holidays so at other times it would be quieter. We had mixed weather, not what we expected for the time of year but you cannot do anything about that. My husband doesn't like flying so we gave it ago, but we won't rush to book another. I think we prefer the Eurostar with longer on land. Too much sea time for us. If you like cruising I have nothing negative to say. I thought the ship was kept spotless and the carpets looked clean everywhere. All the staff worked very hard.
Our cabin steward (Jude) kept it immaculate. Plenty of storage space. Pleasantly surprised.
Walked up to the castle through the town.
