Day one we got to the cabin and reported that it was warm and the A/C didn't seem to be working. We went out checking out the boat which was okay for an older boat. We returned to the cabin in hopes to settle in for a comfortable night but instead found a note saying the A/C was working to Carnivals level or something of that type of wording meaning they didn't find anything wrong with it. We reported it two more times because it was in the mid 70's at night and hard to sleep. We never got anything done about that and stopped reporting it. The housekeeping crew were really good but the restroom in our cabin had a bad smell to it and they cleaned it when we asked but once the smell of the cleaning chemicals were gone the bad smell was right back. We also stopped reporting that. We knew we were stuck in that cabin until Saturday so we just tried to enjoy what we were dealt with. We had been on three cruises since 2016 and on different boats and this one on Elation was the worst experience we have ever had. Many of the food options were the same as other cruises but just wasn't as good. Some was under cooked some was burned like the Pirate Pizza bar. Children were running rampant what seemed to be all night long in groups all over the ship. I can safely say I will never go aboard Elation again and our next cruise is already booked on Royal Caribbean, so I can't say I won't be back on Carnival but it will not be soon. I do have to say that Half Moon Cay was the best experience and it was beautiful. Nassau I could do without and will never go there again. The excursion we chose was a waste of time and money, beach day at the Atlantis for $100 we say some fish in an aquarium and played a few casino games went to the beach but didn't stay because they were out of towels after the on-board meeting told us to not take our carnival towels they would give us a towel at Atlantis. The performers at the Mikado lounge were outstanding though we enjoyed every one of those shows. Anthony, the cruise director was really not that good as a director but may have been a nice guy and the debarkation process was horrible. We waited at the Cole club for over 2 hours while people not following the rules debarked before us. Terrible experience.
Cabin was very warm until about 4AM when it finally cooled down. The A/C was apparently not working but Carnival said it met their standards. I was shocked to hear them say their standards were that low.
We went on tender to Half Moon Cay and it was the best part of the cruise. The water was amazing. As we swam in the water schools of fish would swim right up to you and around you it was awesome.
The only bad experience was the debarkation but that had nothing to do with the port.
