We are a couple in our early fifties and this was our third cruise our first on Holland and America. We have previously cruised once with Celebrity and once with Oceania and probably the similarities were more than the differences .

The Ship- The Oosterdam was a lovely Ship . The public spaces were always spotlessly clean . There were usually sun beds available although sometimes it was necessary to move them into the shade. We didn’t experience any chair hogging only once seeing sun beds saved with clips and not used. The pool was very busy with children in the late afternoon but the rest of the time the pool wasn’t usually busy. The crows nest was a great place to watch the sea when there was no shade on the balcony and was only busy during the sale away from Kotor and sale into Venice.

Our favourite bar was the Ocean bar which was rarely busy. The ship in general although full rarely seemed busy save for on gala nights in the dining room and on arrival at Santorini when everyone on the ship appeared to be going in the same direction either to queue for tender tickets or go to the theatre for a tour.
