Background Information I just want to start off that I have been on many cruises and no one cruise or cruise line is perfect. Each person has unique tastes and you can't please everyone all of the time. I chose the Poesia based on their Port of calls, price and cuisine offerings.
Travel to Port of Embarkation We spent the previous week in Orlando so had a car to drop off at the Fort Lauderdale airport. Unknown to me ahead of that was that the car rental agency provided free bus shuttle to the port which was a bonus. The embarkation process was somewhat disorganized and took longer than other cruise lines but none the less we got thru in decent time. We arrived at the cruise terminal around 12:30 so had sufficient time to enjoy lunch and a hot tub prior to going back to our cabin to unpack.
Ship and Stateroom Info The ship was very beautiful and clean. We always saw people cleaning and polishing. The public rooms were very well appointed and roomy. There were lots of bars to go to and you never felt crammed in. The dining rooms were very nice but as people indicated in earlier posts the noise level was a bit much at times. The pool deck was crammed at our day at sea and there weren't designated 'adult' only areas so it was difficult to find a quiet place to read. The stateroom was very nice. We had a balcony room on deck 9 and I found the cabin comparable to other cruise lines. The beds were very soft but everything else was great. Lots of storage areas and the bathroom had lots of room to store your toiletries. The ship provided body wash and shampoo. I used the body wash and found it very nice. No body lotion or hand cream was provided but I prefer my own anyways.
