We wanted to visit Switzerland, France, & Germany. We started with a pre-cruise visit to Lucerne. It was beyond expectations. We felt pampered & saw things we would not have found on our own. Then the cruise itself was wonderful. We ate & drank local food & brews. The entertainment was appropriate for each of the posts- opera singers, romantic music, game nights & even organ grinder & accordion player. We had informative lectures the evening before so we could get the most from our visits. It was great to see highlights of the countries & still return each night to our cabin. The crew was exceptional-they even remembered us by name. The cruise director was a joy & an amazing problem solver for whatever may have come up. I would highly recommend Viking. We have been on may ocean cruises. This was our 1st river cruise. We are already planning our next trip.
