Just completed the 14 day Caribbean on the Grand during 1/29-2/12/10. This will not be a minute-by minute review, but rather one that I believe will be of interest and value to a person considering a future booking on the Grand. We are experienced cruisers, this being our 26th cruise and number six on Princess. We have been on eight different cruise lines, so I think we have a fairly good knowledge of the industry and what the different lines offer.

First, let's start with the positives and there are several. The food was very good, and in some cases, on a par with more expensive lines. There was good variety of food in the dining rooms and the portions were more than adequate. The buffets on deck 14 were about what one would expect- not great, but fine for breakfast or lunch.

Another positive was clearly the staff and their attitude. Regardless of assignment, time of day or request, they were always smiling and eager to please. Compared to several other ships we have been on, the Grand is very much a "happy" ship. It is not surprising that many of the crew have completed a number of contracts (years) on the Grand.
