This was our 3rd time doing the Mexican Riviera on Carnival. This was the first time on the Splendor. The Splendor is a very nice boat. Very clean!! Since we are from California, we flew down the morning of the cruise. We booked Primetime shuttle for our transportation from LAX. We arrived at the the port at about 12:00pm. Directly went into line and within 15 minutes we had our sail and sign cards and were ready to board. We were placed in groups by numbers. Once our group number was called, we were on the ship within 15 minutes. This was a much better process than our previous cruises out of Long Beach. We were a part of a group of eleven, so we did not do much of the ship activities. We just had fun doing our own stuff! We thought the ship staff was great. Very helpful and very nice. Our waiter, Habib was great!! He was very personal and always had a nightly recommendation, which was always correct. Our room steward, Joao, was also great. He knew our names by the end of the first night and always had our room turned down in a very timely fashion. The highlight of our cruise was a bar waiter that we named Ko. His real name is Komang. We met him the very first day after lunch at the bar on the back of the Lido deck. He was great to talk too, always had something funny to say. He would come visit us at dinner every night even though it was not his area. If you are taking this cruise in the near future, you need to look Ko up if you are looking for a great bar waiter! The dinner food was great! The Lido food was so so. 24hr Pizza was good as always. Our group loved the sandwich bar at the back of the Lido. I preferred the sandwich bar that the Pride had, but oh well. Soft serve ice cream was great as they offer strawberry now!! If you are big soda drinker, you have to go with the soda card. You can definitely get your moneys worth. Omelette's at breakfast are outstanding!! Overall, the food was a huge hit with our group. Entertainment was the best we have ever seen on Carnival. But, they did make a complete dancer and singer change on the 6th day of the cruise. So it drop off a bit. They will need some time to gel. I did the behind the scenes tour on the last day. It was very cool to see the things that you would never see. It was a little spendy and a little long in time, but still very cool!
