My mother and I took the July 31st fourteen day cruise to Scandinavia and Russia. I love Celebrity and was please to get this cruise as we booked late in May. I had never traveled there before and the ports of call were wonderful and the ship was the biggest and best I have ever taken (being bit of a cruise neophyte, this is only my fifth cruise). The weather was perfect (70s-80s and sunny) and the mildly only 'rough' day at sea was the last day. People had advised us that traveling earlier in the summer the weather was colder and more rainy. Perhaps we were extremely lucky.

Embarkation was fine in Dover once I got to Dover. The airport seemed a bit disorganized as the Celebrity personnel did not hold out signs as the other ships did and their navy outfits blended in. I wandered around for about 15-20 minutes until I hung out by the Cunard people and finally saw someone with a small celebrity logo. I then had to run and get a colored sticker and waited to board a bus. I fell asleep on the 1-2 hour trip. I am not sure how long it was but other people at our dinner table complained. I did not mind at all. I can fall asleep anytime and anywhere.

The ship was huge and I still think I was not able to explore everything. Since we booked late, we were on the second floor which was fine with me. The only problem was we had a connecting door with some neighbors who must be deaf. They talked loudly to one another and turned the volume of their TV on really loud. We complained twice to guest relations. celebrity taped up our door twice and solicitously called us to see if things had improved. (It was only moderately improved.) The cabin was spacious and well-appointed. FYI: no need to bring umbrellas as they have ones you can use! Our cabin steward never forgot anything and always had a smile.
