Embarkation went well. No lines. Blue angels were actually putting on a show in Seattle. Cabin with balcony was nice. Brand new ship was the appeal for booking our first Norwegian Cruise. First meal was lunch buffet which was good- especially Indian food. Dinner was average at main dining room, but service was horrible. Wait staff seemed to hate their job. Woke up & went to buffet breakfast- food looked terrific- make your own omelette especially, but an everyday occurrence that was unbelievable- we waited 10 to 15 minutes for a table. Obviously our food was cold by the time we sat down. That occurred every day. Even overflow seating by the pool was occupied. A brand new ship should have the passenger flow figured out. We tried all the specialty restaurants- food was okay, but again service not acceptable. Food would be brought to the table & server even at the steakhouse would yell “who has the fish”. Another surprise was full a la carte pricing on specialty restaurants versus a price per person. Another nickel & dime from NCL. Both our excursions were cancelled due to weather but not notified til off the ship. Never NCL again. Much better experience with Royal Caribbean & Celebrity!
