We chose this ship purely by chance and it ended up being the best decision. Getaway is absolutely beautiful, not perfect, but very close.

My husband and I were in room 9212 which is a standard balcony in the middle of the ship. The room was very clean and organized and our room steward Pelom made sure it remained that way for the duration. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The pillows and mattress were surprisingly comfortable and I slept like a baby on them.

The dining was good but tended to be hit-or-miss. While I did enjoy the Garden buffet and all of its varied selections I was a little disappointed in the fact that none of the food ever seemed hot. I understand the challenges that come with feeding 4,000 people at all hours of the day but I don't recall a single "hot" meal from the buffet besides the crepes which are made to order and insanely good. O'sheehans had pretty awful buns and bad French fries but really tasty wings, better than any I've had on land. Le Bistro was hands down the best food we had on the ship. The escargot and filet mignon followed by chocolate fondue and Baileys... I was one happy person after those meals. Read more
