We cruised the inside passage of Alaska for a week. No complaints at all. Our cabin attendant Maria was very pleasant as were all of the waiters and other staff. Our room was refreshed a couple times a day. Plenty of storage space which is very handy. A large picture window so we had a good view. We were on the 5th floor. The shower is very tiny but we made do with it. You get used to it. Also the hairdryer was terrible. They need upgraded. We actually spent minimal time in the room as there is much to do on the ship and in the ports. We saw a great comedian one night and stopped in at a couple other shows. There was plenty of room on the ship. Could always find a place to sit. Enjoyed the movies under the stars. Blankets and popcorn were provided. Several bars with friendly efficient servers. Nightly buy one get one for a $1 drinks in one of the bars which we enjoyed. The ship was very clean at all times. Never saw dishes sitting around or any garbage. The staff worked continuously to maintain the ship. I saw some stains on carpets here and there but that’s to be expected when you have over 2,000 people on the ship at all times. It was an older crowd on the ship so not a lot of partying happening like on some other cruises we have been on. And the food....I can’t imagine complaining about it. We did eat in the dining room every night. Never had the buffet for dinner but why would we when you can be waited on and enjoy scrumptious appetizers, salads, desserts and several main entree choices each night such as lobster tail, scallops, crab legs, gourmet burgers, fresh Alaska salmon, filet mignon, beef tenderloin and so many other options. All of the food was well prepared and if you don’t like something the extremely friendly and humorous servers are happy to bring you something else. Enjoyed room service coffee and juice every morning. How nice to have coffee in bed while enjoying the view!! Oh and the bed was heavenly. The most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. We did eat at the buffet a few times for breakfast or lunch. There was always a good selection of food and the servers were prompt with delivering drinks to the table. It’s amazing how well they can feed so many hungry people! If people complain about the food they need to remember it’s a buffet. It will never compare to the dining room food. Good pizza each day and the grill served afternoon snacks along with the usual grill fare. The ice cream shop was a little disappointing. I would prefer something more but not a reason to give a negative review. We certainly enjoyed our week and recommend the Island Princess Cruise. The scenery was just breathtaking as we traveled the inside passage. Our 3 ports had plenty to do and see.
Plenty of storage. Very large picture window. Tiny tiny shower and old hairdryer that needs replaced. The most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in.
