We chose the cruise because of the itinerary. Upon arrival at the airport, we had to wait for transportation for over an hour to our overnight room. We prepaid for this transport. Our tour was reversed by Norwegian so we arrived very late to our hotel which was 40+ minutes away. 11 pm Alaska time, 3 am our time and no restaurant was open for dinner. They took the first group to Anchorage. Although there were 12 more going to Anchorage, they asked us to disembark the van we were on which was going to Alyeska so they could transport those 12 passengers in an 11 seat van! We then waited and were transported in a 47 passenger coach bus for the 2 of us. The pre tour was somewhat disappointing because of the tour leader and the overnight accommodations (namely the cabins at Denali). The restaurants had disappointing service compared to other cruise lines we have used in the past and did not appear to be trained well. We liked the variety of restaurants but missed the personal attention when you have the same wait staff each evening. The guest relations on board the ship were disappointing. They did not have a daily newsletter available at the desk to help us find an activity and could not find it on the computer. They appeared clue less. We went back to our room and figured it out ourselves. The evening shows were very good and the bar service was fine except for one night when the person seemed to be a new hire (another clueless employee). The shore excursion desk had one employee who could have had some patience but everyone else was fine.
The bathroom was so small. Sitting on the toilet, your knees touched the wall!! We are not tall people. The hallway was constantly cluttered with carts from the cleaning people and they parked in front of our door every day! The room was clean.
