We have been on many cruises with Princess and HAL. We had a fabulous time and wonderful weather! Cruise Director, John was EVERYWHERE and very entertaining! He had a variety of activities. Loved the North to Alaska talks and activities. Our room steward, Romulo was the best we have ever had--he called us by name everytime we saw him, always had our ice bucket filled, changed out the mini-bar for us when we couldn't get through to Room Service on the first day, and gave us robes without asking--these are just a few of the examples of his excellent service. The captain was fabulous--we saw him frequently about the ship and at different events--he was engaging and enthusiastic about Princess ships and sailing. We were lucky to have great weather (no rain) for our two glacier days and in Ketchikan! We enjoyed 3 dinners in the dining room at night, only used the Horizon court for breakfast--hard to screw up eggs, bacon and sausage. Never a crowd. Always had our coffee cups full. We were on the Emerald deck, and there was a musty smell at the 400 area of cabins, on the 5th day a bucket was put out for drips from the ceiling--that is the only maintenence issue we saw. We loved our not very obstructed outside view cabin E606--great views out the port side! We saw all of the production shows--British Invasion and Born to Dance were outstanding. Let Us Entertain You was horrific--it was just a hot mess (bad singing, choreography, and costumes). Had an issue with a Princess fishing tour and received a partial refund--happy with the outcome (first time we were ever dissatified with a Princess tour).
