We chose a cruise package with a land portion prior to boarding the Star Princess. This was an amazing experience. We loved the Princess Lodges that we stayed in before cruising. The excursions that we took throughout the entire cruise were all incredibly informative and fun filled. The scenery was breath taking! Alaska is our favorite place to cruise to. We saw wildlife, including moose, caribou, whales, bald eagles, puffins, sea otters, sea lions, and dall sheep. The many glaciers were unbelievable! We were able to see them up close, and observe the calving, as large chunks of ice broke loose with a loud cracking sound, and then crashed into the ocean! Unbelievable experience!
We were treated royally on the Star Princess. We were always greeted warmly by our cabin steward. He kept our cabin clean and neat.
Our waiters in the dining room were wonderful. They welcomed us to the beautiful dining room each night. The food in the dining room was always delicious.
The staff at the main desk were helpful when we had questions. They even located my husband's cell phone, which he had misplaced onboard.
The excursion staff helped us to choose a wonderful excursion in one of our ports. We had already booked our other excursions online ahead of time.
The shops onboard were filled with tempting merchandise. We bought things for ourselves, as well as family members.
The ship photographers were very professional. We loved the pictures that they took, and we purchased many of them. It was so nice to get a jump drive with all of the pictures we purchased on it.
Entertainment on the ship was spectacular! The singers and dancers were so talented. Entertainers in the theater, as well as the lounges, were extremely good. We looked forward to all of the shows.
We also enjoyed listening to the educational talks given by the naturalist onboard. She told facts about wildlife, as well as glaciers. We learned a lot and it was interesting.
We had a wonderful cruise experience, and we plan to sail with Princess again in the future.
Our cabin was comfortable, with a wonderful balcony. We enjoyed observing scenery, including glaciers, from the comfort of our own balcony. Our bed was comfortable and the small refrigerator was nice for chilling drinks.
This excursion was taken on one of the boats seen on the show, The Deadliest Catch. The men on the boat were real crab fishermen, who demonstrated how crab traps are dropped and retrieved. They shared stories of adventures on the Bering Sea. This was very interesting, and a lot of fun. We even saw bald eagles diving for fish.View All 125 Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's Tour Reviews
We were able to observe several glaciers from our ship. We didn't stop here, but we learned a great deal about the glaciers from the naturalist on the ship.
What an incredible experience! We had great tour guides that assured that we saw many whales. Some whales surfaced close to our boat. It was interesting to see the whales blow and put their tales in the air, as they went back down deeper.View All 906 Whale Watching Reviews
The train ride was interesting. The engineer narrated the winding route through the mountains. We learned about the miners who were on that route years ago, in search for gold.View All 1212 White Pass Scenic Railway Reviews
This was great. Ou driver made several stops, giving us time to take pictures and get a better view of the amazing mountains and Emerald Lake.
