We chose the Cruise due to its destinations. Embarkation was very smooth but as soon as we got on board, there were the staff, very friendly, waiting to sell you things..the friendliness, I'm afraid only really came when then we're looking for tips !! I have to say, we were upgraded to a balcony suite which we cannot fault. The swimming pool area was overcrowded, not enough sun beds and getting a drink at the bar was a nightmare, the staff moved around like they were zombies and had no idea of who they were serving or who wasnext.

The big thing for me was that there wasn't any "do your own laundry" area. There was a service but it cost 4.50 euros per item to iron. Now, we docked in Venice and purchased a travel iron, only to get back to the ship and it was confiscated...we were treated like criminals, not told why and it just taken from us, a piece of paper thrown at us about where it was going...we didn't understand really and when we challenged them, security turned up mob handed. To be fair, this was through the security checks coming on to the ship, so how much of the ship had to do with it, i don't know.. but we later found out that irons and hair straighteners are not allowed in the cabins....so if we had put an iron in our case, would they have known...I don't think so as my straighteners stayed with me all week. So after several non conclusive attempts at getting our iron back, we were told to go to the gangplank on our day of departure and it would be there. Well, needless to say nowhere to be seen. Worse was that the Very handsome man checking us off the boat, who never smiled and had been grumpy before, shouted at us and told us it was off the ship in security and that, HE KNEW THIS!! So off we went only to be told this wasn't case. Anyway after getting back on the ship, no one could tell us where it was and we had to leave without it. So it's not so much about the iron, it's the fact that considering what we paid, for the cruise,, it was the attitude of the staff, the fact the food was just ok, the inability to find restaurants open when we fancied (which is the whole point). So we had a good room, by luck and saw some lovely places but MSC NEED TO UP THEIR GAME,,,,
