My wife and I are frequent cruisers, about five per year the past couple of years. We tend to gravitate toward NCL and are platinum with them. We chose the Sunshine mostly because we thought our eight year old Grandson would like the amenities as well as the port being convenient to our residence. Overall, we did have a good time, not sure how to have a bad one on a cruise personally.

Pros

We had an ocean view stateroom on deck one. I do have to say it was very large. Jose was our cabin steward and did an excellent job along with his assistant. I had two, very minor gripes. On embarkation day, I was asked if I wanted twice a day service that is standard on all the other ships I've sailed on in the past. I heard they were doing this probably on this board. I felt kind of guilty to ask for two services. I like having the room cleaned in the morning, but I do like the towels being changed while at dinner so they aren't wet and laying on the floor all night. I also really prefer a hard shower door rather than a curtain to help keep the water in the shower. I think he would have probably done this for me if I asked.

Not sure about the category or room number. Addressed in the body above.

Port Reviews

Grand Turk

Hung at the pool, grandson loved it. I liked all the shad provided and chairs for free. There was a ton of seaweed on the beach we didn't want to mess with. Was pretty surprised they don't clean that up when a ship is in port.

Aruba

Spend two week in a condo most years. We just went to our favorite beach.

Curacao

We had a sick child we needed medicine for and wife's foot not in the best shape currently. Next time would probably take one of the bus tours offered at the pier. I think they were $20-25 and included a beach stop.
