First of all, I find it interesting that my effort to get 7 people to attend this cruise was not acknowledged in any kind of way, but, some of the members in my party received champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries.
I arrived on the day of ship departure, in the morning so that I had enough time to get to the port which was an hour away. Because of worry about getting to ship on time, did not have time to explore the city on the date of arrival. The shuttle bus ride to port was quiet, calm, and scenic. Of course, an old shuttle bus which was a foreshadowing about the cruise ship.
The Norwegian Spirit is an old ship but you can't tell that from the outside as it appears to be well maintained. Embarkation went smoothly and faster than I expected.
Cabin Review
Mid-Ship Balcony
I was shocked at how small the cabin with a balcony for two was. I now understand the many emails about purchasing an upgraded cabin which starts at $750.00 per person. I am thinking that they should have offered me an upgraded cabin for free as I got 7 other people to take this cruise with me. What also shocked me was how incredibly small the bathroom was. I was constantly scraping my skin or bumping my head, trying to use the toilet or shower.

The lady guide sucked. Could not understand her because of the audio system she was using.

Tour of the whole island with stops for taking pictures
Taormina (Messina)
I think I did a local bus tour that was not too far from the port that I found when I left the ship.
Rome (Civitavecchia)
Bus and walking tour. Both very good to see and learn about the area.
Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)
Beautiful scenery, the guide was boring.
Marseille
