  3. Oasis of the Seas
Overall I chose RC Oasis of the Seas based on its reputation and reviews after doing online research. My husband and I celebrated our birthdays, got married on one of the islands, and honeymooned on the ship. We found the experience to be very good overall from start to finish. The organization and process for boarding and debarkation was smooth and seamless. From the identity check, luggage check, waiting areas, etc., the signage was great and crowds moved in an orderly and timely manner. The staff seemed happy to be there and committed to providing excellent customer service with friendly smiles and helpful information. The best thing about it was the ORDER, CLEANLINESS, STAFF and FOOD! Ship The pools are small and crowded on sea days. We did not use the pool because there was no room to swim. People just stood there with drinks and talked. The elevators were also crowded, especially on sea days. The ship is beautiful, and we liked exploring the different areas. Our favorite area was the Solarium Bar. The views were amazing and it was roomy, not crowded. Cabin We stayed on the 11th floor in cabin #11255 near the elevators and that was a great location that was easily accessible and quiet. It’s at the end of the hall so no one was on the other side. We had a view of Central Park and the music was loud some nights but stopped at 10pm. With the TV on, it drowned it out. Our room was cleaned daily with sheet and towel replacements, and smelled “fresh” each day. The towel animals left on the bed each night from our room attendant was a nice comical touch. Dining For dinner, we chose to dine at the same table all week in the main dining hall, and our servers felt like family by the end of the week. We enjoyed the rotating menu, and the quality of food was great. I did not have to add salt & pepper to my food often. For breakfast, we chose to dine at the Solarium Bistro and loved the buffet. The food seemed fresher than at The Windjammer and Café Promenade. We also dined at Chops Grille on my birthday and the lobster was exquisite! We also ate a late-night snack at Sorrentos Pizza after every show and that was decent to fix hunger pains. We also enjoyed staff singing “happy birthday” to us. The unlimited beverage package is overpriced, but it was nice to order drinks without having to worry about gratuities. Entertainment & Activities We attended a show almost every night: Frozen in Time, Oasis of Dreams, and the Marriage Game Show. Unfortunately, Come Fly with Me put us to sleep and needs improvement! They had technical issues. Cats was just too long and uninteresting for non-pet lovers. Service Excellent customer service from bar staff, wait staff, room attendants, and dining hall staff. Only had on experience with a towel guy who seemed unhappy to be there. Ports & Excursions In the Bahamas, we chose the Essential Bahamas tour. Our tour guide was entertaining and took us to some local sights. The highlight was lunch at Twin Brothers. The fried grouper fingers were HEAVEN!!! The island is very poor so not much to buy except souvenir tourist junk. In St. Maarten, we chose the Royal Fun Family Food Tour. It was not worth the money in my opinion. We stopped at a cheese shop, a lunch spot, and a gelato spot. The cheese spot is not good for non-dairy eaters. The lunch spot served jerk chicken that looked like a kids plate (also had roaches). The gelato spot was ok, just boring lesson on how to make gelato. Also, the island is still recovering from Hurricane Maria so it was depressing!

  • Island Tour
In the Bahamas, we chose the Essential Bahamas tour. Our tour guide was entertaining and took us to some local sights. The highlight was lunch at Twin Brothers. The fried grouper fingers were HEAVEN!!! The rum cake baker shop was nice too. The island is very poor so not much to buy except souvenir tourist junk. Also stopping at the Atlantis hotel was pointless because you can't see anything without a pass.
