We chose this cruise because we had a fantastic time with the Grand Med Cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway.

Things went wrong after we arrived at Copenhagen. Having collected our bags it took THREE HOURS to get from the NCL queue at the airport to check in at the port. Different agents kept saying different things. Clearly something had gone wrong but no-one would say what.

On the second night my wife was ill. We now believe it was something she ate on board but at the time it could have just as easily been a bug. I went to the medical centre to alert them and found it closed! I then found an officer who got it opened but the staff member I spoke to was more concerned about showing me a price list than asking intelligent questions despite my repeatedly telling them I had full insurance. In the end I just left them to it and once my wife had recovered requested a full clean of the cabin. Whilst on the subject, staff at every restaurant entrance on the Spirit greeted you with a smile and their catchphrase "Washy washy, happy happy" and a squirt of hand cleaner. Sadly we only encountered on person with the spray and that was at the buffet.
