Traveled with children

We just returned from a 4-day cruise on the Carnival Fantasy from Mobile, AL (8/16-8/20). My 8 y/o daughter has several food allergies, including dairy, peanuts, and seafood. So Dragana assisted us in pre-ordering her meals. However, on Saturday 8/18/18 in the Celebration Dining Room, my daughter was served a dessert item containing heavy cream. After a few bites, she told me she thought she was having an allergic reaction, then vomited at the table. We were unaware at that moment that she had consumed any dairy. I rushed her to our cabin to give her Benadryl, while my husband and 2 other children stayed to speak to supervisor. When we got to the cabin, she vomited again. At that time, I noticed swelling to her bottom lip. Her throat was still patent. I immediately called the medical center - no answer. I called Guest Services - no answer. I finally called 911 and told them my daughter was having an allergic reaction. I was instructed to bring her down to the medical center (instead of someone coming up to check her). My family arrived at our cabin at that time and my husband carried her to the medical center (@2115). Her vital signs were stable and her lip swelling improved but was still present. Alan gave us Benadryl to administer every 6 hours.

After assessing my daughter again and seeing that she was stable, my husband and I proceeded to Guest Services where we spoke with Tamara (@2150). She said she would open an incident report, but she was "not allowed" to give us a copy. The only documentation I received was a letter the following morning with a case number. There is no way I can verify the accuracy of the report without reading it.

After Guest Services, my husband and I returned to the Celebration Dining Room and spoke to Andrei, the matre d (@2200). I wanted to know how my daughter was served food containing dairy when we specifically informed the dining crew of her allergies. Andrei was apologetic and said that there was a meeting about this incident happening. I was so angry and frustrated that I started crying and could no longer speak. I don't even remember what was said. But Andrei gave my husband his contact information and we left.
